The Nature Conservancy invited 10 designers to create objects from sustainable materials sourced from around the world. Wood, plants, wool and other organic materials were transformed into intriguing objects, revealing extraordinary stories about regeneration and the human connection to the Earth’s lands and waters. Together designers and consumers can re-shape our economy and help advance a global conservation ethic by choosing sustainable materials that support rather than deplete endangered places. Design for a Living World, which premiered at New York’s Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum and traveled to Chicago and Phoenix, showcases the works of Ted Muehling, Stephen Burks, Yves Béhar, Abbott Miller, Kate Spade New York, Isaac Mizrahi, Hella Jongerius, Christien Meindertsma, Ezri Tarazi and architect Maya Lin. This stop at the Coral Gables Museum will be the final chance to view this beautiful exhibition as The Nature Conservancy will have a closing party on October 25th with an opportunity to purchase these items during a live auction.

Tashen's Landscape Architecture Now! calls on the work of the top designers of the moment, from landscape architects Ken Smith, author of the "Museum of Modern Art's" rooftop garden to Rotterdam's West8, but also from architects who have long been fascinated by the environments of their buildings. Among the new names highlighted is that of South Florida-based landscape architect, Raymond Jungles. Jungles has thirty-one years of experience in the study and practice of landscape architecture in Miami, the Caribbean and internationally. One of Raymond’s multiple award-winning projects is the bold, simple and timeless design for 1111 Lincoln Road, in the city of Miami Beach. The project received the 2011 City of Miami Beach Beautification Award and Award of Excellence from the Florida Chapter American Society of Landscape Architects.  Jungles lecture opens the doors and windows of today's architecture into the gardens of tomorrow.
